3 Tips That Will Help to Keep Your Teeth Healthy and Strong

Here are few tips you can consider.

1. Eat good food and consume less sugar.

Did you know that your diet not only affects your weight but your teeth, as well? If you eat healthy regularly, and most importantly, limit the amount of sugary beverages and foods you consume, you will lower your chances of having gum disease. Plus, if you cut out the carbonated drinks your enamel will be a lot less likely to erode.

2. Brush your tongue.

Brush your teeth and brush your tongue. Brushing your tongue will not only aid in keeping your teeth healthy by removing bacteria, but it will aid in keeping your breath fresh.

3. Take good care of your toothbrush and change it every few months.

All dentists tell you that changing your toothbrush every few months is something that you must do. But, do you know why? You should change your toothbrush every few months because as you brush, the toothbrush becomes less effective at doing its job. Furthermore, the bacteria your toothbrush is helping to eliminate will eventually transfer from your mouth to the bristles, and then possibly back to your mouth (if you don't eventually change your toothbrush.) Therefore, to also ensure your toothbrush stays clean, you should rinse it thoroughly after you brush, and make sure it's in the upright position after you are done cleaning it.

By considering these tips, we are sure that you will be on your way to having a healthier smile! To learn more about how you can take better care of your teeth, or what the general and emergency dentists can do at our office in Cherry Hill, NJ, please give us a call, or browse our website.
